Funeral Services for Mrs. V. Dickinson

Passed Away Tuesday of Last Week After a Five Year Illness; Service Held at Trinity Lutheran Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Vivian Dickinson, aged 51 years, who passed away at her home Tuesday of last week, after an illness of five years duration were conducted Thursday afternoon of last week at 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran church, preceded by a short dervice at the Swarthout Funeral Home. The Rev. A. C. Stapel, pastor of the church officiated and interment was made in the Spencer cemetery. During the service "Asleep in Jesus" was sung by the choir.

Pallbearers were William Kommers, Herman W. Schwantes, Walt Elliott, Andrew Peterson, Harold Drews and Fred Stargardt.

Mrs. Dickinson, the former Freda Raabe, was born Dec. 28,1892 in the town of Sherman, Clark County.

In 1914 she and her father came to the village of Spencer to make their home. She was employed at the Max Stoltenow store. After the death of her father, she went to Manitowoc and worked there for five years.

On Feb. 14,1929 she was married to Vivian Dickinson of Spencer in the Lutheran parsonage at Waukegan, Ill., the Rev. A. C. Bartz officiating.

For a time the Dickinsons resided in the village, then in Minneapolis, and in June 1943 they moved to the Dickinson farm south of Spencer.

Surviving besides her husband are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Haslow of Spencer and Mrs. Minnie Kippenhan of Ken, Wash.; two nieces and two nephews and many sorrowing friends and neighbors.

Another sister, Dora and her parents preceded her in death.

The flower attendants were Mrs. Sherwin Hoftliezer, Mrs. Fred Stargardt, Mrs. A. C. Elliott, Mrs. Wm. Kommers, Mrs. Harold Drews and Mrs. Andrew Peterson.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kommers of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Emling of Chili; Mrs. Gerald Dankemeyer of Neillsville; Mrs. Anton Hegenson and Mrs. F. Reissner of Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Fehring of Sparta; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gruenewald and Mrs. Minnie Parmon of Athens.

Freda & Vivian Dickinson are both buried at West Spencer Cemetery,Sherman Township,Clark Co WI.
