ABBOTSFORD -- Evelyn G. Holtz, 84, Colby, formerly of Abbotsford, died on Monday Jan. 8, 2007, with her daughters at her side.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, Wis. Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker will officiate. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Evelyn was born May 9, 1922, in Madison, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Schultz) Thompson. She was a 1940 graduate of Madison East High School. She attended Madison Business School and was employed with Weiman's Variety Store in sales in Madison. Evelyn and Raymond Holtz were united in marriage in Madison on July 25, 1945, at St. John's Lutheran Church. During WWII, she worked at the R&R Company making walkie-talkies. The young couple moved to Dorchester in 1946 and in 1948 Ray established, along with his father, the Holtz Feed Store in Abbotsford, Wis.

Evelyn was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and shopping. She took great pride in her home and cherished time spent with family.

Evelyn will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Nancy Holtz of Janesville, Linda Mannetter of Racine, and Sharon (Don) Johnson of Racine; two grandchildren, Adam (Becky) Mannetter of Chicago and Kimberly (fiancé Eric Van Dyke) Mannetter of Lawrence, Kansas; two stepgrandchildren, Allyson (Josh) Johnson of Racine and Dave Johnson of Telluride, Colo.; one great-grandchild, Carter Johnson of Racine; a sister-in-law, Florence Thompson of Sun Prairie; a brother-in-law, Harold (June) Holtz of Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Holtz, Feb. 9, 1995; and infant twin daughter, Diane; one brother, Charles Thompson; one sister, Charlotte Thompson; and a son-in-law, Rudy Mannetter.

Memorials can be given in Evelyn's name to Christ Lutheran Church of Abbotsford or the Angelus Retirement Community of Colby.
