Raine, Lucille (Marriage - 14 Sept. 1940)

Miss Lucille Raine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Raine of the town of Pine Valley, and Charles Foote, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Foote, of the same township, were united in marriage Saturday, September 14, at Waukon, Iowa. Keeping their marriage secret for a short time, the couple left Neillsville September 26 for a three-week honeymoon trip through the west. They visited his aunt, Mrs. H. R. Ayer, (formerly Miss Grace Foote, Neillsville) at Great Falls, Montana, also planning to visit Yellowstone National Park and other places of interest.

Mrs. Foote was graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of 1933, fitting herself for teaching in the rural schools by taking the teacher training course the year following her graduation. She taught in the Washington school in the town of Grant for four years. She is a pleasing young woman, capable and thorough in everything she undertakes to do.

Mr. Foote was graduated from the local high school in 1928, also taking a course in the Oshkosh Business College. Besides assisting his parents on the farm, Charles has devoted most of his time during business hours as an auto salesman, working for the R. H. Welsh Chevrolet Co., Neillsville, and for the Stock Chevrolet Co., Loyal. At present he is employed by the Neillsville firm.

Both the bride and groom are ambitious young people and are possessed of winning personalities. To these fine traits may be attributed much of their success thus far in life. The groom purchased the farm which joins the Foote homestead on the north where he and his bride will take up housekeeping and farming next spring.
