Mailand, Herdis (12 JUN 1937)

The First Baptist Church of Evanston, Ill., was the scene of a beautiful June wedding on Saturday when Miss Herdis Mailand, daughter of Mrs. Heldine Mailand of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Norman F. Elliott of that place. The bride was given away by her uncle, O. Matson, of Algona, Ia.

The five o’clock services were performed by Dr. W. Heimseth of Evanston.

The bride wore a gown of white georgette with a tulle veil and carried a bouquet of white sweet peas and lilies of the valley. The maid of honor, Miss Gunver Mailand, wore a gown of aqua blue lace, and carried a bouquet of blue and yellow flowers. Miss Margaret Bredtahal of River Falls was the bridesmaid and was attired in a gown of rose colored lace. She carried a bouquet of blue and pink flowers.

The groom was attended by Francis Richardson of New York City.

The wedding dinner was served the bridal party at the Orington Hotel in Evanston and a reception was held later in the evening at the First Baptist church parlors. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott left immediately after the reception on a wedding tour of northern Wisconsin.

Mr. Elliott is a graduate of Northwestern University and is employed in the advertising department of Sears Roebuck & Co. at Chicago. Mrs. Elliott is a graduate of the Withee High School, and for the past few years has been employed as stenographer in the offices of Marshall Field & Co., at Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott will make their home in Rogers Park, Ill.
