Tesmer, Hattie (3 JUN 1885 - 9 JUN 1937)

Mrs. Hattie Tesmer, 52, passed away Wednesday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Milwaukee, after a short period of illness.

She was born June 3, 1885, in Caledonia township, Waupaca Co., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Singstock. In 1902, with her parents, sisters and brothers, she came to the town of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) where she was united in marriage to William Tesmer on May 17, 1905, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Grove, by the Rev. C. Witschonke. Following the marriage they resided at Colby for about seven years. They then moved to the town of Colby.

Mrs. Tesmer was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and of the Ladies Aid. She held an office in the society at various times.

Surviving are her husband and five children: Mrs. Theodore Frome, Abbotsford; Miss Lenore Tesmer, Milwaukee; Mrs. Harry Thieme, Colby; Miss Esther Tesmer, and a son, Bernard, at home. A sister, Mrs. Ida Rumberg, Oshkosh; two brother, Herman and William Singstock of the town of Colby.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Green Grove with interment in the Colby Cemetery, Rev. M.C. Goetsch officiating.

Moss of Oshkosh; Mrs. Herbert Funk and daughter, William Zelm, Miss Lenore Tesmer of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kusa, Mr. and Mrs. William Klump and Mrs. William Wenzel of Marshfield; Mrs. Louise Singstock, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Singstock, Mrs. Frank Ertel, and Walter Singstock of Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. August Schulz of Sun Prairie; Mrs. Binning of Waterloo, Ia.; Mrs. Donenshaw of Marshall; John Tesmer of Gilman; Mr. and Mrs. William Tesmer of Wausau; Mrs. Charles Emling and Mr. and Mrs. John Young and daughter of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Tesmer of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Fiet of Ogema; Mrs. John Olson and Miss Laura Olson of Abbotsford; Mrs. Vern Luepke of Wohull, Ill.; Mr. John Pudlas of Independence, Ia.; and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Geffers, Fond du Lac.
