Krohn, Clifford Gordon (November 14, 1920 - January 23, 2007)

Clifford Krohn, age 86, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Clifford Gordon Krohn was born November 14, 1920 in Richmond, IL the son of Frank and Mary (Schmiedel) Krohn, Sr. He attended school in northern Illinois, and spent his early 20s traveling out west. He was joined in marriage to Lucille Jung, in Woodstock, IL on October 25, 1952. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2002. Clifford worked as a carpenter and in a factory, before moving to Granton, in 1977 to farm. Clifford officially retired from farming in 1982, although he continued to help his son Jack on the farm for many years. Clifford enjoyed woodworking, animals, and watching western movies.

Clifford is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Neillsville; three sons, Thomas Krohn, of Owen; Jack Krohn, of Granton; and Toby (Sue) Krohn, of Deridder, LA; four daughters, Judy Krohn, of Madison; Jane Sprengelmeyer, of Neillsville; Helen (Roy) Rueth, of Unity; and Ann Krohn, of Madison; 22 grandchildren: Jason, Jeremy, Andrew Krohn, Jennifer (Randy), Rebecca (Justin), Daniel Sprengelmeyer, Christopher (Jolyn), Valerie (Lance), Mandy, Kevin, Natalie Krohn, Joshua, Adam and Jamie Krohn, Tammy, Tonya, Troy and Theresa Rueth; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Frank C. Krohn, Jr., of Woodstock, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leonard and Orville; and sisters, Lorraine Diedrich and Emma Krohn.

A funeral service for Clifford was held Saturday, January 27, 2007 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Father Woodrow H. Pace officiated.

Casket Bearers were: Jason Krohn, Jeremy Krohn, Daniel Sprengelmeyer, Troy Rueth, Christopher Krohn and Joshua Krohn.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted Clifford’s family with arrangements.
