Ferdinand George Deutsch passed away at a hospital at Minot, N. Dakota, October 31, 1940. Mr. Deutsch had not been well for several years, but the direct cause of his death was a stoke of paralysis. He was 61 years, 11 months and 16 days of age.

Mr. Deutsch was born in Neillsville, November 14, 1878, to Charles and Wilhelmina Deutsch. He was educated in Neillsville Furniture Factory to work. He also worked on the farm for G. E. Crothers for several years and for a time he was engaged by the B. E. *Leuthe Company. In 1903, he went to Plaza, N. Dakota., to file on a homestead about four miles north of that city, where he lived until his death.

November 20, 1909, Mr. Deutsch was married to Miss Tillie Christianson at the home of the Rev. G. W. Longenecker family having been neighbors of Mr. Deutsch while they were homesteading.

Five children were born to this couple. They are: Edna, Mrs. Lloyd Schaberg, who resides in California; Carl, Henry, Amie and Raymond, at home. He is survived by his wife and children, one grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Robert Chambers, Stoughton, Wis.; and one brother, Edward, who had taken Ferdinand’s position here with the *Luethe Company, was killed by the kick of a horse in 1904.

Funeral services were held at Plaza Monday, November 4, the body being interred there.

Mr. Deutsch had not made a visit to Neillsville for 27 years, being called home at that time by the death of his father.

*This is the way this surname was spelled in the original write up - Leuthe/Luethe.
