Christofferson, Jane Thoney (3 May 1935 - 31 Dec. 1940)

Funeral services for little Jane Thoney Christofferson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thorwald Christofferson, Juneau, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, here at 10:30 Thursday, interment taking place in the local cemetery.

Jane was born at Scottsbluff, Neb., May 3, 1935, the parents later moving to Juneau. She passed away at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, where she and her mother were taken shortly afternoon the day previously after suffering injuries in an automobile accident. Mrs. Christofferson, her two children and Miss Mildred Schiller were on their way to Neillsville to spend the holidays when the accident occurred.

Jane, a kindergartener, was an exceptionally bright and lovable child. She remained conscious throughout the afternoon and part of the night, responding beautifully to her mother’s efforts to keep the wakeful little mind occupied with saying her prayers and singing Christmas songs, her injuries at first not appearing fatal.

Surviving are her parents and one sister, Mary.
