Briski, Angeline (17 JUN 1944)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) on Saturday, June 17, 1944 when Miss Angeline Briski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Briski of Greenwood became the bride of Florian Gulczinski, son of Mrs. S. Gulczinski of Thorp. Father F. Pickarski officiated at the bridal mass.

Miss Mercedes Varano, nice of the groom, as maid of honor, wore a yellow net gown with matching tiara and blusher and carried a bouquet of gladioli, carnations and roses.

As bridesmaids, Miss Katherine Briski, sister of the bride and Miss Goldie Venesnik, wore yellow net gowns and Miss Goldie Briski and Miss Leona Lendosky wore blue ent gowns. All wore blushers to match and carried bouquets of roses, carnations and gladioli.

The Misses Dorothy Badinski and Virginia Gulczinski, nieces of the groom, as flower girls, wore pink net dresses with pink hats to match and carried colonial bouquets of roses, daisies and carnations.

The groom, who wore a brown suit with a carnation boutonniere, was attended by his brother, Sgt. Stephen Gulczinski as best man. Frank Gulczinski, 1st class Machinist Mate, Robert Briski, and Mike Briski as ushers, all wore dark suits with carnation boutonnieres.

A wedding dinner and supper were served at the home of the bride’s parents to about 130 guests. A beautiful wedding cake, baked by Mrs. Alfred Schwarze, was the centerpiece of the bride’s table. Mrs. Dewey Williams and Miss Miolinia Karpinski of Thorp, and Mrs. Mike Briski and Miss Olga Briski were the waitresses. A wedding dance was held at the East Side Hall in the evening with music by the Nightingales.

Those from away who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Tony Briski, Mrs. Matt Stimac and daughter, the Misses Amelia Venesnik, Katherine Briski, Mrs. Joe Vivoda and Ronald Notto, all of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. James Varano and family, Mrs. Joe Gulczinski and family, Mrs. S. Swierkowski and son, Mrs. Walter Lazarz and daughter and Mrs. Joe Wolezak of Minneapolis; Joe Lisiecki, Milwaukee; Mike Mozinski, North Dakota.

The young couple will make their home in the Town of Reseburg. They received many lovely gifts.

The Gleaner joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many years of happy married life.
