Radtke, Louis (JUL 1877 - 20 MAY 1938)

Louis Radtke, 60. died suddenly of a heart attack at about 8:00 o’clock Friday morning at his farm home 4 1/2 miles west of Loyal on highway 98. He was born in Curtiss in July 1877. He was married to Claudia Gordon in 1900.

Mr. Radtke was stricken while seated at the breakfast table. He had suffered a slight stroke about ten days before his death, but had recovered from it to such an extent that he was able to be out. He had hauled milk to the Wuethrich factory about ¾ of a mile from his home before breakfast.

He is survived by his wife, four sons and five daughters: namely, Ernest, Roy and Archie at home and Ira, Waupun; Mrs. Arthur (Julia) Etta, Thorp; Mrs. Emil (Rose) Pagelsdorf, Greenwood, R 1; Mrs. Orville (Dorothy) Green, Greenwood, Wis. Laverne (Elva) Polzer, Greenwood; and Miss Ruby at home. Archie is confined to the Marshfield hospital and will not be able to attend the funeral.

Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. Church here Tuesday afternoon with interment in the Loyal cemetery, Rev. R. J. Fleming officiating.

Among those from away who attended the funeral was a brother of the deceased, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Radtke and daughter, Neillsville; and two sisters Mrs. Amanda Ottoberg and daughter, North Dakota; Mrs. Fred Jones, Stevens Point, and her son Floyd Jones, Oshkosh.

Pall bearers were Mr. Wm. Syth, Mr. Jack Syth, Mr. Jim Syth, Mr. Bert Pope, Mr. Rob McConnell, and Mr. John Rottjer.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the bereaved family in extending sympathy.
