Wenner, Josephine (Marriage - 8 Nov. 1941)

A double ring ceremony which was performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 8, united in marriage Miss Josephine Wenner and Joseph Schmidt, the Rev. J. A. Biegler conducting the rites.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wenner, of the township of York, was dressed in white brocaded satin, princess style, and a finger-tip veil. She carried a bouquet of white flowers. Her veil trimmed with Chantilly lace, was held in place by a tiara of seed pearls.

A sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Clarence Becker, was matron of honor. She wore a dress of aqua taffeta with headdress to match. Her bouquet consisted of pink flowers.

Clarence Becker attended the groom as best man.

Mr. and Mrs. Wenner entertained approximately 100 guests at a reception, dinner and supper at the town hall. The Ladies Aid of the Methodist church prepared and served the meals. The bride’s table was place at the center of the hall surrounded by the groom tables; the centerpiece being a large wedding cake adorned her table at the supper hour. Above the table hung a large white wedding bell from which were ? aqua and white streamers to various parts of the hall.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at Silver Dome ballroom, after which the couple went directly to the farm. In York which the groom has conducted for the past three or four years and where he had arranged a home for his bride.
