John Fry Vincent, son of Vincent and Mary Ann Vincent was born in Waukesha, Wis., April 3, 1862. He died at his home in Neillsville, Wis., Sunday morning, Oct. 11 at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 8 days. He had been ill for a little more than two weeks suffering from gall trouble and its complications.

There were born to this family eight children, five of whom survive. After his marriage Mr. Vincent worked for five years at the carpenter trade in Waukesha and Rock Counties. He again took up farming in the same general community until 1901 when he moved his family to a farm in the town of York, Clark County. This was the family home until 1919 when they moved to Neillsville where they have since resided.

Mr. Vincent was a man of high character, honored and respected in the community. He was by nature of a cheerful and happy disposition. He greatly loved children and was in turn loved by them. His appreciation for the good and beautiful in life was shown by his delight in flowers and shrubs.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife and three sons, and two daughters, Victor of Feodra, S. D., Percy of Loyal, Wis.; Gertrude, Mrs. Glynn Tisdale of Abbotsford, Wis.; Keziah, Mrs. Erwin Nickel of Milwaukee, Wis.; Jim on the home farm in York.

Three children are deceased, John died in infancy; Eva, Mrs. Joseph Krejci, died in 1916 at the age of 22; and Alvin was killed in action in the World War in May 1918. There are also 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One brother Frank of Waukesha survives. Besides there relatives there are many neighbors and friends who will greatly miss him.
