Geiger, May (30 SEP 1930)

May Geiger, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Mrs. Frank Geiger, Sr., and Michael Wolf, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wolf of Marshfield, were the first couple married in the beautiful new Catholic Church, Rev. Paul Pitzenberger officiating, Tuesday morning, Sept. 30th, 1930, at 9 a.m.

Frances Geiger, sister of the bride, and Chas. Wolf, brother of the groom, were the attendants.

The bride was becomingly attired in a white satin and lace gown, hose and slippers to match, wore a veil and carried a shower bouquet of white asters, pink carnations and sweet peas. The bridesmaid wore a gown of old rose flat crepe and a headband of rhinestones and carried a bouquet of white asters and carnations.

The bride’s little sister, Ethel Geiger, was the flower girl and was dressed in pale pine flat crepe and carried a basket of mixed flowers.

The dainty gowns of the ladies and the conventional dark suits of the gentlemen made a pleasing picture to the eye as they came down the aisle of the beautiful new church that will long be remembered.

After the ceremony they all repaired to the home of the bride’s parents where the day was spent feasting and enjoying themselves. Dinner was served at high noon and again at 5:30 to the assembled guests. The house was tastily decorated in pink and white as the Universal Hall for the dance in the evening. One hundred invitations were issued for the dance and the hall was full to the doors but everyone had a fine time.

The bride is a popular young lady, raised in Dorchester community, thought she has been away most of the past eight years, employed at Stevens Point at Dr. Dubinski’s, still her many friends have not forgotten her nor her fine qualities and wish her the best in life. Mr. Wolf is a stranger to most of us, but we’d trust May to pick a splendid life partner. We join their host of friends in wishing them bon voyage on life’s sea.

The Geiger’s motored down with the new couple to Marshfield Wednesday to their new farm home about 3 miles from Marshfield, and it is truly new for the buildings are all new and modern and just the place for a bride to start her new home.

Those who attended the wedding besides the immediate family were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Witman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Geiger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Geiger, Jr., and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Stoiber, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Jon Stoiber, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. F. Stoiber and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Doessl and family, Rev. Pitzenberger, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wolf, parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. John Wolf, Ruth Pleier, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lange, Jerome Schaefer, Tony Bell and Ann Marie Keissig, all of Marshfield…(the rest of the attendees were listed on another page that I did not have a copy of)
