Schefsick, Ann (18 JUL 1853 - 20 OCT 1930)

Mrs. John Schefsick, who died last Thursday at the home of her son, John, was buried Tuesday morning from the St. Louis Catholic Church, Rev. Pitzenberger officiating, with interment in the Memorial Cemetery. John Schmitt, Nick Decker, John Kadonsky, Peter Kramer, Albert Stroota and Mr. Heisler acted as pallbearers.

Ann Ozga was born July 18, 1853, at Salgo, Tayarine Province, Austria Hungary, and was married to John Schefsick in 1873. On May 15, 1881, they came to Dorchester and settled on the farm in the town of Holton where she died. Mr. Schefsick died in 1893. Nine children were born to them, 3 dying in infancy, and 6 surviving, who are John of the town of Holton, Frank and Joe of Chippewa Falls, Herman and Elmer of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Peter Beyerl of Colby.

Mrs. Schefsick is another of our good and great pioneers who has finished her work and gone on. Though her health was anything but good for the last 38 years, still she did what she could and insisted on waiting on herself except when too ill to move, but she was uncomplaining and brave and tried to make the most of life and now has slipped away where sickness or sorrow cannot come.

May God comfort the grief stricken hearts as only He can.

Those here for the funeral were Mrs. Anton Stallman of Corinth; Mr. and Mrs. Art Gelhaus of Medford; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schefsick, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schefsick, Jr. of Loyal; Frank Sofranek and Mrs. Hy Semrod of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. A. Gutwasser and Mr. and Mrs. E. Hunt of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. E.H. Hahn of Eau Claire and a large delegation of friends from Colby and Abbotsford, Wis.
