Nitsch, Charles G. (24 NOV 1842 - 28 OCT 1930)

Mr. Chas. G. Nitsch died at Milwaukee Tuesday, Oct. 28th, 1930 of paralysis at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 4 days, and was buried from Kaufmann Bros. Chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with interment in the Union Cemetery, his nephew, Rev. Aug. Rohde of Sheboygan conducting the funeral services.

His daughter, Mrs. Oscar Kuenzel, went down Wednesday, as soon as she was called, and Mr. Kuenzel and Anton Renner went down on Saturday for the funeral, and they all returned Sunday.

Chas. G. Nitsch was born in Germany, Nov. 24, 1842, and came to the United States in 1878 and was married to Gertrude Lettau, May 13, 1881, at Evansville, Ind. They were there for several years and then came to Wisconsin to Milwaukee. They lived here about 45 years ago for a period of five years in the Town of Holton on the farm across from the old Mannes farm. Then they went back to Milwaukee and 2 years ago they came back again and stayed this time for three years, then back to Milwaukee where they have since resided.

Two sons, Theodore and Charles, died in infancy, and one daughter, Elsie, died about 20 years ago at the age of 18 years, so there are only two living children, Gertrude of Milwaukee, and Hattie (Mrs. Oscar Kuenzel) who with her mother survive him.

The Clarion joins with their many friends in offering sincere sympathy to these grief stricken ones in this dark hour.
