Olson, Hans E. (24 DEC 1857 - 7 DEC 1930)

The entire community was shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden death of Hans E. Olson, prominent Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) country farmer. Death occurred at his home in the town of Holton Sunday, Dec. 7th, 1930, due to a heart attack. Funeral services were held from the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rev. J. Brandt, pastor, officiating and interment took place in the cemetery south of town (Memorial South). The pallbearers were his six nephews: William Peckham, Jr., Louis Peckham, George Empey, Clarence, Henry and Elias Olson.

Hans E. Olson was born in the town of Clayton, Winnebago Co., Dec. 24, 1857, and died at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 13 days. On Aug. 14, 1892, he was united in marriage to Miss Gena Nelson. To this union six children were born: Einer of the town of Holton, Oscar, at home, Mrs. E. Kramer of Milan; Mrs. Eric Beisner of Dorchester country; Miss Helma of Neenah; and Miss Ruth, who is a nurse at Oshkosh. There are also six grandchildren.

They resided in Winnebago County until 1902, when they moved to their farm home nar Dorchester, where they now reside.

To all who knew him, Mr. Olson has ever been a true friend, kindhearted and happy in his walk thru life. He was a loving father and husband, leaving a family to mourn his going. Mr. Olson had created a place for himself in the life of his fellowmen and his departure will leave a gap that can never be filled in the same way. We join with the many friends in extending sincerest sympathy to the bereaved ones.

Those from out of town attending the services were: a sister, Mrs. J. O. Hanson and Helma Olson of Neenah; a brother, Louis Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Elias Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Olson and Norman Olson, all of Larsen, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig Olson, John and Joseph Olson of Taylor, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Breed, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Hanson and Mrs. Max Zenske of Shawano; Ole Olson of Bessemer, Mich.; Ruth Olson of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hanson of Cadott; Mr. Carl Hanson of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. John Empey of Waukesha, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schausa of Spirit Lake.
