Walter, Richard William (July 7, 1911 - March 20, 2007)

Richard Walter, age 95, of Neillsville, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Richard William Walter was born on July 7, 1911 in Greenwood, the son of Joseph and Mabel (LaTarte) Walter. He attended school in the Town of Beaver. After his education he moved to California. He then moved to Kenosha and worked for American Motors. After his father died he moved back home to help his brother, Frank, on the farm. Richard loved square dancing, playing cards and he loved to visit with people.

He is survived by one brother, Frank, of Neillsville; and one sister, Virginia Nyysti, of Chippewa Falls. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Viola and Dolores.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace will officiate. Providing music will be Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Richards’s family with arrangements.
