Local Happenings

Last week, Clarence Olson brought home an extra fine mess of fish from the northern lake. One lot was served for the evening meal, and the other dressed and placed in the cellar. During the night some culprit entered the cellar and made away with all excepting two small pieces.

Mrs. Briggs and daughter Lillian visited Mrs. Lawrence at the Krohn Hospital Sunday. Mrs. Lawrence is much better and expects to return home soon.

Mmes. Pickett, Escher, Jackson, Farnsworth and Stuve were at Eau Claire Monday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Fugina and children and Mrs. A. Fugina and sons Earl and Allen, of Winona, visited at the Tritsch home Sunday.

Mrs. E. T. Hale went to Reedsburg Monday to attend the funeral of her uncle, John Darrow. Mr. Darrow was a cousin of the noted criminal lawyer, Clarence Darrow, of Chicago.

Everybody is having anniversary celebrations, and we believe Christ. Eisenhart is entitled to hold a golden jubilee also. Fifty years ago last May, Mr. Eisenhart came here, and the next fall he went onto a tract of land east of the town that had pine stumps so thick that the roots interlaced, and by hard work on the strong end of a shovel and the skillful handling of an axe, he and other members of the family, developed a fine farm. The farm is now the home of Albert Matti. It did not remain long in the original ownership.
