Hause, Sam F. (7 Mar. 1864 - 18 Jun. 1944)

Sam F. Hause, aged 80 years, a resident of Unity since 1888, died Sunday afternoon at the hospital in Marshfield, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks, suffering from complications of old age.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Unity Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, following brief services at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. M. R. Ferguson had charge of the services and burial was made at Unity.

Sam F. Hause was born at Sheboygan on March 7, 1864, and came to this community as a young man and settled on a farm in the town of Sherman. He was married to Lillian Sheldon at Spencer on June 24, 1888, and they moved to Unity. For 30 years prior to his retirement, 15 years ago Mr. Hause was a railroad section worker, and foreman. Mrs. Hause died on May 1, 1944.

Surviving are four sons, Chester of Hammond, Ind., Ray of West Allis, Vern of Fond du Lac and Howard of Colby; also eight grandchildren, a great grandchild, and a brother, William Hause of Catawba. A son, William died in 1926.
