Virginia A. Meyer

NEILLSVILLE -- Virginia A. Meyer, 94, of W5122 Pineview Road, Neillsville, died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. The Rev. Timothy Biebert will officiate. Burial will be at Dells Dam Cemetery in the town of Levis.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Buchanan Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Virginia was born June 25, 1912, in Sheboygan to Fred and Clara (Gephardt) Wischmeyer. She married Wilhelm "Bill" Meyer in April 1943 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Virginia was educated in Illinois. After marriage, the couple resided in Lester, Iowa. They moved to Neillsville in 1946. Virginia was employed as a registered nurse from 1955 to 1982 at Neillsville Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home. She was a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop. She loved to read and crochet, enjoyed cooking and house plants.

She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville and a member and former officer of the Hospital Auxiliary.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary (Larry) Dubois of Neillsville, and sons, Samuel (Karen) MacGregor of Park Falls, and David Meyer of Neillsville, Wis. She is further survived by her seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Bill on March 16, 1980; her parents; and a sister, Louise Logsdon.

A memorial will be established at a later date.
