Elda Neumann

SPENCER -- Elda Neumann, 94, of Spencer, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the Marshfield Center.

Funeral services for Elda will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Rebekah Tarras will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dan Delo, Wayne Delo, Randy Pachal, Milton Pachal, Dale Raatz and Dale Neumann will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be at the church Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Elda was born May 6, 1912, to Louis and Emma (Becker) Karnopp, in the town of Beaver, Clark County. She attended Oak Grove School. She was married to Maynard Neumann on Sept. 4, 1937, at St. John's Lutheran Church.

She was a farm wife and homemaker, living and working on the farm until retirement and moving to Spencer in 1967.

She enjoyed working on counted cross stitch pictures as well as sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, baking, playing cards and watching the Brewers. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the ladies aid and the Dorcas Circle.

Elda is survived by two daughters, Shirley Johnson of Zion, Ill., and Mabel (Robert) Lehnherr of Marshfield; a son, Royal (Susie) Neumann of Phillips; three grandchildren, Gary (Lisa) Schultz, Larry Morrical and Jodi (Jeff) Nickles; four great-grandchildren, Amanda and Tamara Schultz and Lauren and Payton Nickles; a sister, Esther Pachal of Neillsville; and two sisters-in-law, Phoebe Karnopp of Winifred, Mont., and Ruby Neumann of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard, on March 7, 1985; two brothers, Clarence and Wilbert Karnopp; and two sisters, Linda Delo and Alice Raatz.
