Dwight Treankler

Dwight Treankler Sr., 70, Abbotsford, died Friday March 2nd, 2007 at Continental Manor, Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services were held March 6th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Colby. Monsignor John Malik presided. His grandsons served as pallbearers.

Dwight was born January 17th, 1937, in March Rapids, the son of Floyd and Mary (Schraufnagel) Treankler.

He graduated from Abbotsford, Wis. High School in 1955.

Dwight married Mary Ann (Misener) on July 27th, 1957 and were later divorced.

He worked for Packaging Corporation of America and owned the Colby A&W Root Beer stand. Dwight later owned and operated the Central State Speedway.

Dwight graduated with honors from NTC with a degree in marketing.

He enjoyed hunting, Packer and Badger games and sports in general. He served for four years in the National Guard Unit in Abbotsford, Wis. Dwight was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his children, Terry Treankler, Colby, Sheri (Russell) Bunkelman, Athens, Dan (Ramona) Treankler, Altoona, Dwight (Vicky) Treankler Jr., Abbotsford, Rob (Denise) Treankler, Fall Creek and Shannon (Niaomi) Treankler, Marathon; twenty grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Virginia (Allen) Stange, Abbotsford, Wis.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darlene.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
