Stevens, Loring D. (31 Aug. 1865 - Feb. 1936)

Funeral services for Loring D. Stevens of Crary, who died in a Devils Lake hospital Monday, were held from the Congregational church in Crary Wednesday with Rev. Ashley officiating. Interment was made in the Crary Cemetery.

Mr. Stevens was born August 31, 1865, in Oswego, N. Y., and came with his parents to Humbird, Wis., in 1866. In 1883 he brought a car of immigrant movables to his father, Alfred Stevens, who had settled on the homestead south of Crary, returning of Humbird that fall.

In the spring of 1886 with his mother and brother he came to Crary and has made his home on the farm or in Crary until the time of his death. The deceased was never married.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances L. Stevens, in 1904, and his father, Alfred Stevens, in 1907. He is survived by his only brother Fred R. Stevens of Devils Lake and one nephew, Don Stevens of Minneapolis, Minn. - Devils Lake (N. Dak.) World, Feb. 5th.

Mr. Stevens will be kindly recalled by the older one amongst our readers, and more especially those who were schoolmates. His father was an early day merchant in the store now owned by F. A. Tritsch.
