Dietsche, Allen E. (23 Jul. 1918 - 14 Jun. 1991)

Allen E. Dietsche, 72, of 304 N. Cedar Ave. died at 12:50 p.m. Friday in the Emergency Room of St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with the Revs. Mark Krueger and Stewart Crown, assisted by the Rev. T. P. Bradtke of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, officiating.

Music will be provided by Duane Helgerson, soloist, and Mrs. Isle Bradtke, organist.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield, and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Friends and relatives will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 54 at graveside.

He was born July 23, 1918, in the town of Sherman, Clark County, to John and Cora (Yates) Dietsche. He attended town of Sherman schools.

He married Lillian Krause June 2, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.

As a young man, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Medford and Madison. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in September 1941 and served in the U.S., Iceland, England and Belgium. After the war, he returned to Marshfield and worked as a milk hauler for Otto Mellenthin Cheese Factory until 1947, when he began employment with Central Cheese Co. in Marshfield. In 1961, he began employment with Kelly Tire Co. and worked there until 1967. He then worked for the city of Marshfield as a custodian at Washington Elementary, Marshfield Senior High School, and Mid-State Technical College. Mr. Dietsche retired in 1981.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 54, Marshfield Horseshoe Pitchers, Concerned Heart Club and he was active at the Marshfield Community Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jean Doty of Emporia, Kan., a son, Stanley of Delta, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Hoffman of Milwaukee and Mrs. Carl (Catherine) Hoff of Cape Coral, Fla., and five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Marvin, on Feb. 4, 1968, five brothers and five sisters.
