Ewert, Charles (23 Oct. 1875 - 29 Sept. 1958)

Unity, Wis. - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church for Charles Ewert, 82, who died at Tomahawk Monday morning after suffering a heart attack while on a fishing trip with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nickel. The Rev. Robert Langseth will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

The body is reposing at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Mr. Ewert was born Oct. 23, 1875, in Germany. He came to the United States with his parents at the age of six to the Unity area, where he received his education in rural schools.

He was married April 17, 1901, in Unity to Emma Voth, who preceded him in death, Sept. 8, 1956. They farmed near Unity until 18 years ago, when they moved into the village of Unity, where he had lived since.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Linda Strohman, Marshfield; Mrs. Irene Lynn, Wausau; three sons, Edwin Ewert, Wausau; Myron Ewert, Janesville; and Walter Ewert, at home; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and sister, Mrs. Hulda Keith, San Lorenzo, Calif.

Three brothers, Herman, Fred and Gust Ewert, and two sisters, Hanna and Anna Ewert preceded him in death.
