Neuman, Viola Ethel (24 Dec. 1909 - 31 Oct. 1998)

Loyal - Viola E. Neuman, 88, Loyal, died at 1:05 a.m. Oct. 31, 1998, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joel Neuman, Frank Grisham, Dwayne Morgan, Kenneth Makela, Jonathan BenEzra and Mitchel Schlagenhaft.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Rinka Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., both today at the funeral home.

Viola Ethel Luepke was born Dec. 24, 1909, at Spencer to August and Elizabeth (nee Fenhouse) Luepke. She received her education in schools at Ladysmith, Unity and Spencer. She graduated from Loyal High School in 1930. She was united in marriage to Harold L. Neuman on Nov. 10, 1932 in Loyal.

Viola was a homemaker and raised seven children. After her children were raised, she worked for various places in central Wisconsin.

Viola was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Loyal American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed bowling for 50 years, playing cards, traveling and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Neuman of Marshfield; two daughters, Jean (Corky) Grisham of Huntsville, Ala., and Kay (Roman) Schaefer of Marshfield; two sons, Jack (Judy) Neuman of Nekoosa and Jan (Susan) Neuman of Montgomery, Ala.; her daughter-in-law, Aleta Neuman of LeMar, Calif.; 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren, her brother, Warnerd (Beverly) Luepke of Milwaukee and her sister Hazel Anderson of Lake Havasu, Ariz.

She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Paul and Jerry Neuman, a daughter, Karen Neuman; by her brothers, Casper, James, Vern and Melvin. *** The rest of the article may have been cut off and was unavailable at the time of transcription.
