Pederson, Louise A. (6 Aug. 1879 - 3 Jun. 1948)

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Colby, Wis. for Mrs. Louise A. Pederson, 67, Edgar, a former resident of Unity, who passed away at 3:40 A.M. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she had been a patient since April 16. She had been ill for 10 years.

Louise Cleveland was born August 6, 1879 in Osceola County, Iowa. She attended grade school and high school in Ocheydan, Iowa. At the age of 17 she began teaching school and three years later she married Gus A. Pederson on November 16, 1892. To this union were born three children: Mrs. Talbert (Fern) Erickson, who preceded her in death, having passed away in 1931; Mrs. Elmer (Velda) Wussow of Edgar and a son, Truman Pederson of Neillsville, Wis.

In 1909 they moved from Ocheydan, Iowa to Greenwood, Wis., and in 1925 they moved to Colby, later moving to the Village of Unity.

On August 29, 1945, her husband died. Louise, not being able to live there because of her illness, moved to Edgar, where she made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, who cared for her for three years.

On February 15th, 1948, she had a stroke which caused her to be partially paralyzed and on April 17, she was taken to the hospital.

Besides her son and daughter, she leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Mrs. Esther Kelley of Talrage, Sask. Canada and Mrs. Elizabeth Ellerbrock, Egon, South Dakota; four brothers, Ernest of Ocheygan, Iowa, Phil of Pipestone, Minn., Harley and Earl of Lake City, Iowa; four grandchildren, Betty, Bruce, Norma and Morris Wussow of Edgar and twenty nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Colby Methodist Church with Rev. F. J. Smith officiating. Burial was in the Colby cemetery.

Mrs. Scott and Graham Thayer sang "The Nearer The Sweeter," and "Just As I Am," accompanied by Mrs. Elmer Langjahr.
