Of interest to friends in this community is the death of Rev. C. M. Olander, former pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church. He died in Minneapolis on Tuesday, June 1st.

New Era Church Founder Dies

The Rev. August Aden, pastor of the Ziegler Memorial Lutheran church at New Era, received word Wednesday of the sudden death of the Rev. Martin Olander, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, organizer of the New Era church. Funeral services will be held in. Minneapolis at 2.p. m. Friday.

Ziegler Memorial Lutheran church was established in 1907 through the efforts of the Rev. Mr. Orlander who served as pastor of the new church for 10 years. The Rev. Mr. Olander, who spent his entire life in the interest of home missions work, came to Muscatine upon his ordination and his son, Carl, now a pastor in Brockton, Mass., was born in Muscatine county. The Rev. Mr. Olander Is also survived by a daughter, Helen, who is married and resides in Wisconsin. His wife died in 1946.
