Bymers, Mary E. (14 JAN 1939)

St. John’s Catholic Church at Marshfield was the scene of a January wedding Saturday morning at 9 o’clock, when Miss Mary Elizabeth Bymers, Marshfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bymers, Veefkind, became the bride of Archie Blaettler, son of Mrs. J. Budo, Marshfield.

The nuptial mass was celebrated by the Rev. A. J. Dorrenback.

The bride was lovely in her transparent white velvet dress trimmed with seed pearls yoke made princess style with long entrain, long sleeves, full at top and buttoned daintily down the back to hip line. Her long weil edged in elaborate wide Chantilly lace fell in soft graceful folds from a cap effect head dress trimmed in crown effect with seed pearls. She carried a beautiful bouquet of large pink roses and maiden hair fern with wide pink ribbon streamers. Her only piece of jewelry was a large gold cross set with rhinestones which hung on a chain around her neck.

Miss Marie Bangart, Plymouth, Wis., cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Her dress was royal blue transparent velvet floor length with hat to match.

Miss Dolores Garbrecht, Marshfield, niece of the groom, was also dressed in an autumn rust transparent velvet gown floor length with hat to match. She also attended the bride as bride’s maid. The bride’s attendants carried corsage bouquets of mixed flowers.

Attending the bridegroom were James Wesley, Marshfield, friend of the bride and groom and Harold Bymers, Spencer, brother of the bride. The groom and attendants wore dark suits with button bouquets.

Pink and white streamers decorated the home of the large white paper bells hanging in the archway and center of the rooms. The wedding car was also trimmed in the same color. Covers were laid for 70 guests for the reception dinner and supper at the bride’s home. A large wedding cake graced the center of the table with tall pink and white candles at each end which were lighted at supper time.
