Lydia Green Short Haner's sister ABIGAIL "Abby" GREEN, who married THOMAS J. WELCH (born Ohio, son of LEVI Welch) on Dec 24, 1868 (in Levis, Clark Co., WI by Justice of the Peace, witnesses Edward and Margaret Tompkins) is listed on the Levis 1870 census on line 28: Welch, Thomas J. age 30 (born c1840) and Abby Welch age 29 (born c1841). They are also listed on the 1895 Washburn twnshp census along with two unnamed sons.

The "Civil War Index T of Soldiers Buried in Clark Co., WI" ("The Brave were Buried Among Us") lists Thomas J. Welch born 13 Feb 1840 died 5 Dec 1924 Sgt Co I 112Inf 12 11 1862-20 Jun 1865 buried West Spencer Cemetery (no dates listed on cemetery list) informant was son NORRIS Welch.

Also buried in the West Spencer Cemetery is a ABIGAIL WELCH with a 21 Oct 1917 date that I think is a death date rather than a birth date as indicated on the cemetery list. I think that this Abigail was the wife of Thomas J. Welch Buried in the same cemetery with no dates listed.
