Nichols, Genevieve (December 30, 1923 - April 19, 2007)

Genevieve Nichols, age 83, of 460 Grant St, Stanley, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp, WI surrounded by her sons & daughters. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the Faith Evangelical Free Church, Stanley, WI with Pastor Matt Miklas officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery, Stanley, WI. Friends and family called from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Plombon Funeral Service assisted the family with arrangements.

Genevieve was born December 30, 1923 in Polley, WI, the daughter of John & Margaret (Kuhn) Pinsch. As a young girl she moved with her family to the Stanley area and grew up there. Genevieve attended Stanley area schools. She was united in marriage to Harry Nichols on April 14, 1948 in Stanley, WI and has resided there ever since. Genevieve was the family caretaker and stayed at home raising their five children and then later worked for many years at the Stanley Corporation until her retirement. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed cooking for them, using recipes from her numerous cookbooks. She also enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles.

Genevieve is survived by two sons: Harry Robert (Peggy) Nichols of Thorp, WI and Mike Nichols of Stanley, WI, three daughters: Barbara (Clair) Lewallen of Stanley, WI, Colleen (Henry) Nowobielski of Thorp, WI and Linda (Herbert) Mathwig of Kendall, WI; 16 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Marcey Larson of Chippewa Falls, WI and Mary Ramos of Columbia, S.C. and one brother-in-law, Sherrie Richards Jr. of Pascagoula, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry in 1999; one grandson David Lewallen; one brother, Clarence Pinsch and sisters: Clara, Ivodahl, Margaret, Pauline and Caroline.
