Anderson, Rose "Rosie" M. (January 30, 1925 - May 7, 2007)

Rose "Rosie" M. Anderson, 82, of Black River Falls and formerly of Neillsville died Monday, May 7, 2007, in Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls.

The former Rose M. Zschernitz was born on January 30, 1925, in Neillsville, to Carl and Mathilda (Dobes) Zschernitz. She married Lester Volz on February 23, 1946, in Neillsville, Wis. The couple moved to Black River Falls in 1953. they were later divorced.

She later married Francis "Gump" Anderson on August 17, 1967, in Black River Falls. Gump Anderson died on May 1, 1979.

Rosie was employed at Flugstad’s Grocery Store, the A & P Store, and Larkin’s Hardware Store, all of Black River Falls. She had also been a partner in the ownership and operation of a café in Black River Falls. In later years, Rosie was employed as a home health caregiver.

She loved to play bingo and cards, and attend rummage sales.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Wheelock, of Grafton; two grandsons, Scott and Steven (Melissa) Wheelock; two great grandchildren, Zachary and Samantha; three brothers, Louis (Genevieve) Zschernitz, of Neillsville; Laverne (Anne) Zschernitz, of Stanley; and Melvin (Rose) Zschernitz, of Marshfield; two sisters-in-law, Ann Zschernitz, of White Bear Lake, MN, and Mildred Kaczor, of Neillsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Lester Volz and Francis "Gump" Anderson; three brothers, Bob, Glen, and Earl Zschernitz; a step-brother, Frank Wendell; and two step-sisters, Mary Lukas and Margaret Rey.

Memorial services for Rose "Rosie" M. Anderson will be Thursday, May 10, 2007, at 1 pm. from the Buswell Funeral Home (www.buswellfuneralhome.com), Black River Falls. Pastor Calvin Thoreson will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited for visitation from noon until services Thursday at the Buswell Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to Pine View Care Center.
