Fenstermacher, Clarissa (16 NOV 1872 - 30 OCT 1936)

Mrs. Ed Fenstermacher passed away at her home in the village at 2:30 a.m., last Friday, having suffered a stroke of apoplexy.

Clarissa Pierce Fenstermacher was born in Lenora, Minn., on Nov. 16, 1872, and nearly reached the age of 64 years. She was united in marriage to Edwin Fenstermacher on Sept. 3, 1895, at Fremont, Minn. She came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with her husband and daughter in the fall of 1929 and this has since been her home.

She leaves to mourn, her husband and one daughter, Luverne, three brothers, guy Pierce, Fremont, Minn.; Fred Pierce, billings, Mont.; and Nathaniel Pierce, Vancouver, Canada, two sister, Mrs. J. Markegard, Bucyrus, N.D., and Mrs. P.A. Carlay, Opportunity, Wash. Two children preceded her in death some years ago.

The funeral was held at the M.E. Church, Monday afternoon, Carl Berry conducting the services, and interment following in the East Thorp Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: John Rossman, Almon McCarty, Ernest Nimbar, Isaac Sisco, Harry Brill and Amos Sisco.
