Ortmeier, Mr./Mrs. Conrad (50th Anniv. - 9 Apr. 1930)

Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Ortmeier celebrated their fiftieth or golden wedding anniversary at the home of their son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Dehne, Wednesday, April 9th, with an informal dinner. The home was artistically decorated for the event in appropriate colors.

Mr. Ortmeier was born in the town of Centerville, Manitowoc county, in 1855 and Mrs. Ortmeier was born in Lippe Detmold, Germany, seventy-five years ago and came to the United States with her parents when still a little girl and settled in Manitowoc county. Mr. and Mrs. Ortmeier were married April 9th, 1880, at Centerville. They settled on a piece of land which they cleared in the pioneer days and experienced all the hardships of the early pioneer. In November 1916, they came to Colby to live with their children who are Mrs. Dehne and Mr. Henry Ortmeier. Another daughter died several years ago. They have nine grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Ortmeier have a large number of friends in this vicinity with whom the Phonograph joins in extending congratulations.
