Rahn, Freda (14 Jan. 1879 - 18 Aug. 1930)

Mrs. Ernest Rahn passed away at her farm home southwest of Colby in the town of Green Grove, Monday evening, August 18th, at 10:30, neuritis being the cause of her departure to the distant shore. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Green Grove, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, and internment will be made in the Green Grove cemetery.

The deceased was born in Mecklenburg, Germany, January 14th, 1879, thus reaching the age of fifty-one years, seven months and four days. When seven years of age, she came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joachim Miller, and the family came directly to the town of Green Grove where they homesteaded and built a fine farm out of the wilderness. She was married to Mr. Ernest Rahn on January 28, 1904, in Green Grove. This union was blessed with two sons, Henry, University of Wisconsin student, but now at home during the summer vacation, and Edmund, also at home. Besides her husband and two sons, her death is also mourned by two brothers and two sisters, namely: Joe Miller, Curtiss; John Miller, Curtiss; Mrs. Lena Ebert, Colby; Mrs. Otto Sommer, Spencer.

The deceased had been ill with neuritis the past five years, and, the past year, had been helpless in bed. She had been a patient sufferer and never complained. She joined the Lutheran church at Green Grove when she first came to this country and had always been a faithful member. She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship’s circle was to her a large one. Indeed, it may be said of her, that all who knew her were her friends.
