Blanke, Dietrich (15 SEP 1859 - 24 OCT 1935)

Funeral services for Dietrich Blanke, who passed away at his home at Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) Thursday, Oct. 24, 1935, will be held at the Little White Church Monday afternoon with the Rev. L.G. Thiel officiating. Services will be conducted at the home at 1:30 and at the church at 2:30. Interment will be made in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Blanke was ill for about one week before his death.

Dietrich Blanke was born in Darngust, Germany on Sept. 15, 1859 and was 76 years, 1 month and 9 days old at time of death. On April 21, 1893, he was united in marriage to Miss Wilhelmina Degan at Rastede, Germany, and in 1911 they came to the United States and settled at Le Mars, Iowa, where they lived until 1921 when they moved to their home in Curtiss, Wis.

Five children were born to them, and three of the children, with their mother, preceded Mr. Blanke in death. Mrs. Blanke passed away in 1909. Mr. Blanke is survived by two sons, Fred and Henry Blanke, both of Curtiss, one granddaughter, Ruth Blanke of Curtiss, one brother, Rev. William Blanke of Newton, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Herman Krase of Dorchester, Wis. The many Dorchester friends join us in offering sympathy to the mourning ones.
