Another old Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) resident was lost to the community when G.H. Genrich, veteran blacksmith and hardware implement dealer, passed away at the General Hospital at Madison Wednesday afternoon at ? following a lingering illness of about four years duration. During the past few years Mr. Genrich had been treated at several hospitals and only recently left for Madison where he passed away.

The body was brought to his home in the village and funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1:30 from the house and 2:00 from the Peace Evangelical Church with the Rev. J.R. Kalwitz officiating. Burial will be made in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Gustav Herman Genrich was born in Germany June 15, 1862 and was 73 years, 4 months and 25 days old at time of death. He grew to young manhood in his native country and in 1880 came to the United States and was employed as a blacksmith in the iron mines near Ironwood, Mich. On Dec. 22, 1888 he was united in marriage to Miss Mathilda Peters at Wausau and after living for several years at Ironwood, they came to Dorchester in 1894. Here Mr. Genrich established his blacksmith shop and as time went on, branched into the farm implement business. Due to ill health he was forced to retire from active work about two years ago.

Nine children were born to the Genrichs, one son of whom preceded his father in death. Besides his wife Mr. Genrich leaves one daughter, Miss Olga of Milwaukee, seven sons, Adam, Lawrence and Lloyd of Milwaukee, and Otto, Hugo, Henry and Elmer of Dorchester, and ten grandchildren, Geraldine, William Jr., ..ip and Patricia Mae of Milwaukee, and Donald, Ranny, Blanche, Beverly, Dora Ann and Doris Marie of Dorchester, Wis.

Mr. Genrich was active in clubs and village work during his stay here, having been village treasurer for over twenty years. As a result of his illness Mr. Genrich was forced to resign his office as treasurer about two years ago and he also gave up other outside activities which had consumed so much of his time.

He leaves a large host of friends who will greatly miss him and they join us in offering sincerest sympathy to the mourning ones.
