Glenzer, Henry (18 MAY 1852 - 11 NOV 1935)

Funeral services for Henry Glenzer, who passed away at the Stevens Point Hospital Monday, Nov. 11, 1935, at 6:30 p.m., were held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Walter Boos home and at 2:00 at the Salem Evangelical Church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.) with Rev. L.G. Thiel officiating. Interment took place in the Memorial Cemetery with six grandsons acting as pallbearers. Mr. Glenzer was ill for about four weeks and death was attributed to old age and heart trouble.

Henry Glenzer was born May 18, 1852, in Sheboygan, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Justus Glenzer, and was 83 years, 5 months and 23 days old at time of death. He grew to young manhood there and on June 4, 1892, he was united in marriage to Frederica Schmidt Leitzow at Colby. Following their marriage they came to Dorchester where they resided until Mrs. Glenzer’s death which occurred on March 31, 1932. During those years Mr. Glenzer spent his time at farming and butchering. Since then he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Walter Boos at Abbotsford, and with his son, Henry Jr., at Stevens Point, with occasional visits here.

Besides his son, Henry, and daughter, Mrs. Walter Boos, Mr. Glenzer leaves four step-daughters, Mrs. Hannah Verhulst, Dorchester, Mrs. Fr. Way, Medford, Mrs. G.N. Schultz, Ripon, and Mrs. Ed Flood, Stevens Point, two stepsons, August Leitzow, Ashland, and Ed Leitzow, Dorchester, 33 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sister, Mrs. Mary Klemm and Mrs. Barbara Stecker of Colby, and two brothers, Richard Glenzer of Green Grove and August Glenzer of Kaukauna.

During his many years as a resident of Dorchester, Mr. Glenzer continued to enlarge his circle of friends who enjoyed his companionship and who join us in offering deepest sympathy to his family in their sorrow.
