Gebauer, Lex A. (April 13, 1955 - May 20, 2007)

Lex A. Gebauer, age 52, died at Memorial Health Center, Medford on Sunday, May 20, 2007. Memorial services were at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Medford, Wisconsin with Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Cremainal inurnment took place in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Visitation was held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Medford from 3:00 p.m. until time of memorial services.

Lex A. Gebauer was born April 13, 1955 in Wausau, WI. Lex attended Medford area elementary schools and was a 1973 graduate of Medford Sr. High School. Lex also completed an electrical correspondence course.

Lex was united in marriage to Margaret "Maggie" Reynolds on September 20, 1975 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, Wis.

After his education, Lex drove truck for Kleist Trucking for a period of time. From 1974 to the present he worked for the City of Medford Public Works Dept. He also intermittently drove school & coach bus for Krug’s. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycle, playing cards & doing odd jobs. He was active in Medford Youth Hockey Association where he worked on the annual alumni hockey games. Lex served on the Holy Rosary building and grounds committee, and recently completed a term as secretary of the Holy Rosary parish council.

Lex was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Medford; Catholic Knights of Columbus and a past member of Whittlesey Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret "Maggie" of Medford; his children: one daughter, Oralee (Mike) Dittrich of Mosinee and one son, Seth (Katie) Gebauer of Chippewa Falls, WI; and two grandchildren: Issac & Alex Dittrich of Mosinee. He is also survived by his parents, Norman & Ann Gebauer of Medford; his father and mother-in-law, Jim & Leora Reynolds of Dorchester; one sister, Nancy (Robert) Schesel of Thorp; one brother, Bill (Bonnie) Gebauer of Medford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Alana Grube who passed away in June of 1994.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Medford Youth Hockey Association.
