Niehoff, Henry (3 AUG 1851 - 27 JUN 1936)

Funeral services were held Monday for Henry Niehoff, who passed away at the Wausau Memorial Hospital Saturday morning at ?:50 o’clock following a brief illness. Mr. Niehoff had been working on his farm, two miles southeast of Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) in the town of Holton (Marathon Co.), until a few days before he was taken to the hospital.

Funeral services were held at the Helke Funeral Home in Wausau at 9:30 Monday morning with Rev. E.H. Bertermann officiating and interment was made at the Rex Cemetery at Iron Ridge.

Mr. Niehoff was born Aug. 3, 1851, in Germany and came to this country at the age of fourteen years. He was married to Miss Maria Melcher at Hustisford, Feb. 17th, 1876. Mrs. Niehoff passed away in 1907. For the past six years he has been living on his farm near this village.

He is survived by nine children, Mrs. O.C. Lemke, Felix Niehoff of Wausau, Mrs. Ralph Skillin, Oak Park, Ill., Mrs. G.C. Johnson, Evansville, Ind., Mrs. R.E. Petty, Oshkosh, Paul G. Niehoff, Beverly Hills, Calif., Mrs. Carl Hoff, Portland, Ore., Conrad Niehoff and Miss Viola Niehoff of Chicago; two brothers, Otto Niehoff of Horicon and Bernhardt Niehoff of Beaver Dam. He also leaves four grandchildren.
