Colburn, Elizabeth (8 FEB 1824 - 23 OCT 1897)
Mrs. Elizabeth Colburn, born Claytock, died at the home in Levis (Clark Co., Wis.) Saturday after a long sickness, death resulting from a general breaking down of the vital organs. Her age was 73 years and 6 months. The funeral was held Sunday at 9 a.m., from the house, Rev. T.C. Hill officiating.
Deceased was born in Illinois, and with her mother moved to Grant Co., Wis., at an early day, where at Platteville, she was married to J.W. Colburn May 15, 1851. In 1861 they came to this county, and the following year settled upon the homestead in Levis. Deceased was a member of the Congregational Church of Platteville. She leaves two sons, Mile M. and Warren, two sons and a daughter having preceded her to the grave. The aged husband proposes to continue on alone at the farm, doing his own house work.
