Rasmussen, Jacob (1862 - 21 DEC 1933)

Jacob Rasmussen, 71, was stricken with a heart attack last Thursday, while visiting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Harold Christiansen, in this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), and passed away at about 2:30 p.m.

Mr. Rasmussen had apparently been in good health and had partaken of a hearty dinner at the Christiansen home at noon, the sudden attack coming without warning.

Funeral services were held from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee Sunday afternoon, Rev. Mikkelsen officiating.

Mr. Rasmussen had been a resident of the Withee community for the past 30 years and had been engaged in farming.

The deceased was born in 1862 in Denmark and after coming to this country was married in Superior. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons and three daughters.

The surviving children are: H.P. Rasmussen, Spooner; Thorvald and Arnold Rasmussen, Tyler, Minn.; Ole Rasmussen, Maiden Rock; Viggo Rasmussen, River Falls; Mrs. Leo Smith, Kenosha; Mrs. Richard Neilsen, Withee, and Mrs. Harold Christiansen, Owen, Wis.

Mr. Rasmussen was devoted to his family circle and was a loyal friend and good neighbor. His long residence in this county gained him a large acquaintance and he was favorably regarded by the many who came to know him during that period. He leaves a wide circle of friends whose sympathy goes out to the children and other relatives in their sorrow.
