Wallner, Fred (11 June 1854 - 9 Feb. 1933)

Fred Wallner, a resident of Clark county since 1891, died at his home in Colby Friday night, February 9th, at 10:00 p.m., carcinoma being the cause of his departure. Funeral services were held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the F. W. Lulloff undertaking parlors, Rev. Bushendorf officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were K. Andrews, August Schoelzel, Hugo Krepsky, Fred Baumgart, Gust Franz and Wm. Strathman.

The deceased was born in Germany June 11, 1854, thus reaching the age of seventy-eight years, seven months and twenty-nine days. He was married to Johanna Panke in Germany December 24, 1871, to which union five children were born, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Wallner came to the United States on May 1, 1891, and to Clark county on May 3, 1891. Mr. Wallner belonged to the Modern Woodman and worked at various occupations - on the section, in various lumbering industries and in the box factory.

Besides his widow he is survived by one son and three daughters, namely: Ernest F. Wallner, a chemistry instructor at Marquette University, Milwaukee; Mrs. Charles Stuckert, Milwaukee; Mrs. John R. McCauley, Milwaukee; Mrs. Ernest McGraw, Chicago. Also eight grand children.

The out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John R. McCauley, Milwaukee; Mrs. Ernest McGraw, Chicago; Mrs. Chas. Stuckert, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Wallner, Milwaukee.
