Dacey, Josephine (1874? - 24 JUL 1899)

Josephine Dacey, aged 25 years, died of consumption at Tom Kerns’ farm residence Monday morning at half past five o’clock, July 24th, 1899, and was buried, from the Catholic Church. Deceased was a most estimable young lady, and many friends bear testimony to her gentleness and amiability. She was born at Benedicta, Maine, where her father and a brother still reside. Benedicta is also Mr. Kerns’ birthplace. Timothy Dacey, a brother, came from Bangor, Me., upon receiving word of her dangerous condition, arriving in time to talk with her and bid her the long farewell. He had intended to take the remains to Benedicta, to lie at the mother’s side, but was persuaded to abandon the idea, and will return to New England next Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Kerns have been the kindest of guardians to Joie, and feel her loss most keenly.
