Lukowicz, Frank (27 Jan. 1879 - 8 Oct. 1933)

Frank Joseph Lukowicz died at the St. Joseph Hospital at Marshfield Sunday, a ruptured appendix being the cause of his departure. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary’s Catholic church Wednesday morning, Rev. L. Lang officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The pall bearers were Herbert Firnstahl, Walter Schneider, Louis Frane, Wm. Will, Tom Mallak and Peter Apfelbeck. The flower girls were Deloras Will and Leona Steinwand.

The deceased was born at Poniatowski, Wisconsin, on Jan. 27, 1879, thus reaching the age of fifty-four years, eight months and eleven days. He was married to Kathryn Gierl in Colby on September 20, 1904. He came to Colby thirty years ago and worked at the painting trade.

He is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Cecelia Tietema and Mrs. Ruby Olson of Colby; one brother, Joseph Lukowicz of Antigo; and four sisters, Mrs. Clementine Knoll, Edgar; Mrs. Clara Dolman, of Chicago; Mrs. Phillip Koll, Racine; Mrs. Geo. Dumas, Chicago.

The out of town people here for the funeral were: Mrs. Joseph Lukowicz, Thomas Lukowicz, Mrs. Dave Payette and Mr. Joseph Lukowicz, Jr., all of Antigo; Mrs. Clara Dolman and Mrs. Geo. Dumas, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Koll, Racine; Mr. and Mrs. Clem LaFond, West DePere; Mr. and Mrs. Stan Knoll and Mr. and Mrs. John Knoll, Edgar; Mrs. Katherine Marzinski, Mr. John Marzinski, Mr. Joseph Marzinski, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marzinski, of Cassel; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gierl, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gierl and Mrs. Al. Schuman, Abbotsford, Wis.

The deceased was a kind husband and father, a faithful member of St. Mary’s church, a diligent worker and always tried to do his duty.
