Korntved, Mr./Mrs. Antone (60th Anniv. - 4 July 1970)

Mr. and Mrs. Antone Korntved, Unity, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 4.

Dinner was served for the family at Redwood Inn at 5 o’clock and a reception for family and friends took place from 2 to 4 at the Korntved home.

Mrs. Korntved had a corsage of pink roses for the occasion and her husband a boutonniere. Special gifts included a money tree from their great-grandchildren.

The couple are the parents of three daughters and one son and have 16 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. Their children are Mrs. Gladys Ringquist, Spencer; Mrs. Andrew (Loretta) Peters, Mishicot; Mrs. Joseph (Merle) Bremer, Chicago, Ill., and Donald Korntved, Unity.

Mr. and Mrs. Korntved were married July 7, 1910, in the Spencer Lutheran Church, the Rev. Mr. Schmitt officiating. They farmed in the town of Brighton until 1932 when they moved to Unity. Mr. Korntved had been a member of the school and town boards, and for 16 years was a patrolman on Highway 13. They retired in 1955.

Mr. Korntved was born Oct. 6, 1887, in the town of Brighton to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Korntved. He was educated at Romeo and farmed there until he married. He is still in good health and enjoys his hobbies of fishing and hunting.

Mrs. Korntved, the former Frieda Voth, was born March 24, 1893, in Clark County, to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Voth. She received her education at the Willow Brook School. She too is in good health and enjoys knitting and gardening as her hobbies.

Guests for the celebration came from Chicago, Milwaukee, Two Rivers, Mishicot, Manitowoc and Chetek, as well as from local and surrounding areas.
