Mrs. Emily Wellman died last Thursday morning at her home west of Unity, where she lived the past twenty-six years, dropsy being the cause of her departure. Funeral services were conducted at St. John’s Lutheran church at Riplinger, Rev. W. Gamb officiating, and internment was made in the St. John’s parish cemetery.

The family settled in Spencer. She moved to Kenosha with her parents in 1891 where she was married to William F. Wellman in 1897 and they moved to Unity in 1907 and she lived there ever since. The following children survive: Mrs. Edna Groth of Marshfield, Walter Wellman of Spencer, Mrs. Adelaide Griepentrog of Spencer, Gerhardt, Elmer, Hilda and Herbert, all at home. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Moericke, and a brother, Carl Schwalbe, both of Kenosha. Also eleven grand children.
