Schoolman, Carl (13 June 1912 - 18 Jan. 1991)

Spencer, Wis. - Carl Schoolman, 78, rural Spencer, died Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, with the Rev. William Ruhbusch officiating. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, after 4 p.m. Sunday.

He was born June 13, 1912, in Ohio, to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Schoolman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the India campaign.

He married Esther Oelrich Oct. 21, 1944, at Veefkind Church. She died in October 1989.

He farmed in rural Spencer until 1967. He was also a self-employed blacksmith until retirement. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one son, James of Spencer; one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Will of Colby; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Spiegelberg of Spencer, Mrs. Minnie Ewert of Poynette and Mrs. Marie Kolstad of Marshfield; and two grandchildren.

He was also predeceased by five brothers.
