Schrader, Fred William (20 June 1874 - 18 Apr. 1948)

Auburndale - (Special) - Fred W. Schrader, 73, who was ill the last three months, died of uremia Sunday at 3:45 p.m. at his home on route 2, Arpin. He had been hospitalized for three weeks during his illness.

After 1 p.m. Tuesday the body will lie in state at the Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where funeral rites will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, followed by a 2 o’clock service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Auburndale. The Rev. Valerius J. Zuberbier will conduct the rites and internment will be made in Hillside cemetery, Marshfield.

Fred William Schrader, son of the late William Schraders, was born at Green Bay June 20, 1874, attended schools in the Town of Lynn, Clark County, and was married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Unity Nov. 20, 1902, to Marie Mellenthin.

After his marriage he was employed for 18 years by the Roddis Lumber and Veneer Company in Marshfield, then worked for the Upham Manufacturing Company for two years. He lived on W. Arnold street in Marshfield for 28 years before purchasing his present farm home at Arpin.

While in Marshfield he was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and since then attended St. John’s Lutheran Church at Auburndale.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Oscar Schrader, Marshfield, and James Schrader, route 2, Arpin; two grandchildren; and four brothers, Gust of Greeley, Colo., August of Chicago, Henry of Spokane, Wash., and William from Mississippi.

Three brothers: Herman, Ferdinand and Charles, and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Knoll, Mrs. Julia Stargardt and Bertha, preceded him in death.
