East Beaver

Surprise parties are of frequent occurrence, and indeed have become a veritable custom in almost every community. East Beaver has been no exception to the rule, as we have had several within the past few weeks and more anticipated soon.

Among the most recent was a gathering on Friday evening of last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Simmons. An excellent supper was served, but as we are ? to consider such things in a partial manner, we will desist from further complimentary remarks, but let the testimony of all present confirm the truth of what we have already said.

Conversation, music, dancing and games constituted the order of amusement, reliving the ? by of every day life, encouraging the young in social intercourse, making lighter our more mature years, the burden of care, strengthening the ties of friendship and sympathy which binds one human heart to another. Thus the evening was spent in a manner which pleased and profited all, and will be an occasion often referred to by the unsuspecting host and hostess and long remembered by those present.
